About the Hayashi Lab

Kumiko Hayashi, PhD, is an Associate Professor in Physics who leverages her expertise in mathematical modeling to characterize transport by KIF1A molecules. She would like to contribute to the understanding of KAND by providing new measurement methods and theoretical models based on physics. Her current research focus is quantifying the number of KIF1A motors that cooperate to carry a single cargo, and how this is impacted by KAND-relevant mutations.
